Despite the worsening weather conditions, AoS took to the streets of Glasgow yesterday for a successful street collection.
Euan McArthur, National Development Officer for Scotland, John Harrison and Graeme Wright – all parishioners from St Aloysius Church in Glasgow, braved the elements for two hours and, in doing so, raised £100.40p before the incessant rain forced them to seek shelter back home!
It was the first time AoS had undertaken a street collection and their presence prompted much interest from passers-by and shoppers alike who were keen to find out a bit more about the charity’s ministry supporting seafarers.
It is hoped Sunday’s outing will be the first of many such fund-raising ventures and a big thank-you must go to John, a member of St Aloysius Parish Church Council , and Graeme, a ship visitor in Grangemouth, for their dedication and support throughout the afternoon.
Thank you to all who so generously donated too!
